UK: RISE FOR BRANDED FOOTBALL FINACIAL PRODUCTS
Article Abstract:
According to a report from the market research firm, Datamonitor, the demand for financial products, such as loans and pensions, acquired through football teams such as Manchester United over the next five years is expected to increase five-fold. The biggest areas of growth will be mortgages, pensions, life assurance and house and motor insurance, which will grow by 40% on an annual basis according to Datamonitor, although the figure will be quite low in the context of the whole market. There are currently 430 financial products associated with sports organisations, many of which are soccer clubs.

UK: BANK OF SCOTLAND EXTENDS INTERNET SERVICE
Article Abstract:
Bank of Scotland, which claims to have pioneered Internet banking in the UK, will allow standard account holders to access their accounts online, via its free Internet service provider, BoS.Internet.com. The new Internet service is based on the Home and Office Banking Service (Hobs), which was originally launched in 1985 and has 350,000 live accounts. BoS has decided to offer both types of service, following research showing that customers want access to traditional banking as well as an Internet-based service.
